Program Details

The TOD program is a two-tier rate plan that rewards you for using electricity wisely each year from June - October. Participants pay a lower rate for electricity used during off-peak hours and higher rates during on-peak hours.

On-Peak vs. Off-Peak Rates

Savings
On-peak rates are 2 - 7 PM, Monday - Friday
Off-peak, lower rates apply the other 19 hours per day,
plus all day on weekends and holidays.

Note: By enrolling in the TOD program, you save money when you shift your electricity use to times when the rates are lower, such as waiting to do laundry and run your dishwasher until after 7 PM or turning off your pool pump by 2 PM.

With the DLC program, you can earn automatic bill credits up to $40 each year, per thermostat participating. During occasional periods of high electricity demand called “peak events," PSO will raise the target temperature on your thermostat no more than four degrees, or cycle your compressor on and off in varying increments.

  • Peak events can occur up to 16 times from June - October between the hours of 2 PM and 7 PM on non-holiday weekdays only. Once a peak event ends, your thermostat will return to its original temperature setting.
  • Earn up to $40 per thermostat ($2.50 per peak event).
  • Opt out of a peak event any time through your thermostat, your thermostat app or by calling the Power Hours Customer Care Center.
  • There is no penalty for opting out of a peak event, you simply forfeit your bill credits for that event.

NOTE: If you have more than one thermostat in your home registered in the program, all registered thermostats must participate in the peak event to receive the bill credits.
